First off, congrats to everyone accepted into the program! Can't wait to meet you all.
My name is Katie Pfisterer and I am from Clinton, NY (a small college town near Syracuse). I graduated in May 2012 from SUNY Geneseo with a chemistry degree and I will be entering the MPH Epidemiology track in the fall.
Right now, I am looking for a roommate or roommates to share an apt with. I'm familiar with the area because my siblings both went to school in Albany and I would preferably like to be in the east campus area or close by. There are a lot of nice 2 or 3 person apt complexes in close proximity to the school that I have been looking at as well as a couple places listed on craigslist! I'd like to stay out of Troy as it's an older area and not as safe from what I hear. I'm looking to stay under $500 a month (which seems very possible).
I've always enjoyed living with other people and my favorite year of college was my soph year when I lived with 7 of my girlfriends. I am very clean, organized, and respectable. Some of my favorite things are working out, hiking, shopping, going to coffee shops, country music, & syracuse basketball. I'm down for anything to get me out of the house for study breaks. I work very hard during the week and am very studious but I also love to socialize and hang out with people on the weekend.
